The GSM providers Bharti Airtel and Vodafone are the first telecom majors to launch it in the country. There is word that the handset will be priced at around Rs. 20,000.


Last week, Bharti said that millions of Airtel subscribers will be able to purchase the iPhone at Airtel's Relationship Centres from August 22.


Debt, currency and swap market trading are unlikely to beaffected much by the strike but cash rates may tighten asstate-run banks are the biggest lenders in the money markets,the head of trading at a foreign bank said.


Mumbai-based Big TV, owned by Indian mobile company Reliance Communications, launched its direct-to-home service Tuesday.
