#GetStarted on Your Internet of Things Startup!

#GetStarted
on Your Internet of Things Startup!

IoT (Internet of Things) is the next trend of technology that is taking over the startup landscape. With the advent of hardware manufacturing, sourcing and distribution becoming a tad bit easier, innovation is going from the ground up for several interesting and niche use cases where there hasnt been a way to fulfill those demands before.
Think about problems like how deaf people can't hear - and at times become undependable and feel like they are a burden. Studies show that mothers who are deaf, feel depressed and barely sleep when they have children, because they never know when their child is crying. Imagine if you could create a wearable device that would vibrate, which is worn around your neck or wrist, if it hears noise around you and in the direction where the sound came from? It would change lives, and improve them for the better - as technology was intended.
But hardware prototyping hasnt always been easy. It requires a learning curve of how to use the right hardware kits, and sensors to build out those prototypes. Thats the reason why The Startup Centre has partnered with Mediatek, the world's leader in Hardware Prototyping kits, to organize an In50hrs exclusively focused on Internet of things. We are bringing in mentors and entrepreneurs from the IOT space to help you wade through any initial hiccups from a design, usability and technical perspective.
We want to help not just get off the ground with the prototype but with some runway too. So the top three teams have cash prizes lined up - of upto 1,50,000INR in total (andAWS credits, complimentary .CO domain name, and goodies) for all participants.
The event happens this weekend - starting tomorrow at the AWS Office in Bangalore at MG Road.
Please register your seat here : https://in.explara.com/e/in50hrsblriot
Get started. Don't be late on this trend, that is going to make a fundamental shift in how we look at things, and live in this world.
Date: August 21st | 5:30pm - 23rd | 9:00pm
Venue: Amazon Web Services, Brigade South Parade (Near Trinity Station), MG Road, Bangalore

Firefox reaches 40, the Mozilla browser tailored to Windows10

The Mozilla browser wants to be at an advantage over its competitors and is the first company that has adapted to the new operating system from Microsoft. To do this it will launch Firefox 40, which will combine design Windows 10 with its own to offer a reduced interface and increase the space for displaying web pages.

Edge Microsoft 's browser has been chosen to become the default in Windows 10 , unless we change it , of course. But many users will continue to use their browsers Firefox for lifetime and it wants to make it easy to do so. To do this it has to be the first to have developed a totally new browser tailored to Windows 10 and its new philosophy.

This implies that also suit smaller screens for tablets and phones with Windows 10 , but for now we can only test the features of the desktop version. Therefore they have included a new feature that implements 'tiles' that serve to suggest sites based on our browsing history.

But that 's not all . Firefox 40 also provide protection against potentially dangerous downloads that make it the most secure browser so far. In addition , the new chat tool Firefox Hello, also adds a new feature. Now you can select the Web tab you want to make the focus of a new conversation. You just have to dial the 'let's talk about " before starting a chat. Also, with Firefox 40 graphics performance is improved so navigation also becomes fast.

Anyway , this new operating system upgrade Mozilla has more to do with the arrival of Windows 10 with the necessary development of Firefox. Now that they have taken a competitor out of the way as Internet Explorer does not want to leave any doors open to Edge snaps into place. For now, just wait the movement of Google Chrome will also have to release an update soon though , both the Google browser such as Mozilla work seamlessly with older versions on Windows 10 .

Firefox 40 will be available soon for all users.

A letter to President Political parties of India From IESM
Dear Veterans Dated 13 Aug 2013
Letter to the Presidents of all Political Parties of India and three Chiefs dated 12 Aug 2013 is enclosed herewith for your information and widest circulation please.
With Regards,
Yours Sincerely,
Maj Gen (Retd) Satbir Singh, SM
Vice Chairman Indian ESM Movement

Dated: 12 Aug 2013
Presidents Political Party
1. The time for electing a new Government at the Centre is coming nearer and which may be scheduled sometimes in late 2013 or 2014. Indian citizens will be using their right to elect a suitable Government to govern India for next five years. This vast population of India includes 10 crores veterans, serving soldiers their families and friends, who will also be using their franchise to elect a Government of their choice. This large population of veterans is concentrated mostly in seven states of our beloved country namely Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttara Khand, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. These states together send about 350 members to the Parliament. The population of veterans and their sympathizers is located in such a way that if they vote en block they would influence the result of at-least 150 parliamentary constituencies. Similarly, they would be able to influence the result of at-least 450 MsLA for the state Governments which will also be going to polls from Oct 2013 onwards. Your research team will confirm this data.
2. The contribution of veterans and Indian Armed Forces does not need any explanation. Suffice to say that India is safe and intact today because of bravery, valour and sacrifices of men and women of Indian armed forces and veterans. Citizens of India are getting sound sleep, unmindful of any dangers on the Indian borders, is because of constant vigil by Indian armed forces of today and veterans of yester years.
3. You are fully aware that veterans and soldiers are not happy with the treatment being meted out to them by the Governments – the political leaders and administration. Their unhappiness and disappointment with the present system has been raised by various MsP of all parties, including your party in Parliament at various occasions. The plight of military veterans has been recorded in various Parliamentary Committees on Defence who have steadfastly recommended One Rank One Pension (OROP) for the Defence Forces of India. Even a Parliamentary Committee headed by Sh Bhagat Singh Koshiari strongly recommended OROP for Defence Forces of India. Despite the strong recommendations of many committees, Defence Forces are miles away from their main demand of OROP.
4. One Rank One Pension means equal pension for equal service for same rank. The latter in their context is length of service combined with the rank on retirement. So it is ‘same rank, same service, and same pension’.
5. In many decisions, Honorable Supreme Court has also maintained that Government cannot arbitrarily decide on a cutoff date for pensions and create a separate group in pensioners, one getting higher pension and one getting lower pension because of their date of retirement. It will be easier to call it Mil Pay as Military service has always been different than their civilian counter parts because of their inherent exposure to dangers and their 24x7 duty hours.
6. Seeking parity between old and current pensions is a matter of pride. That is the reason that Hon’ble MsP and MsLA have been granted same pension irrespective to their dates of being elected to Parliament and State Assemblies. Similarly, our Hon’ble members of the judiciary are also enjoying benefits of this provision. All members of IAS, IFS and IPS also draw the benefit of higher pension as all retire at the level of secretary or equivalent. The soldiers, in the normal course, should get preferential treatment. Here, they are not even being treated at par with others.
7. Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement (IESM) has been projecting demands of veterans and soldiers at various forums. IESM has even taken lead in depositing hard earned gallantry medals to the President of India because of non-acceptance of veteran’s demands. IESM has also submitted various memorandums signed in their own blood to all important functionaries in the Government.
8. That the precious blood of soldiers, which should be shed for the safety of India, is being used for signing memorandums is a matter of shame and communicates their alienation from Government’s policies. IESM has a strong influence on veterans and will be able to influence their voting choice on one call. Therefore, it is important for IESM to know the views of your party for the following demands of veterans and soldiers in uniform.
(a) Same Pension for same length of service for same rank call it Mil Pension system to differentiate from civil employees.
(b) Representation of veterans in all committees, as head of the committee, which are formed to look into the demands of veterans and armed forces.
(c) Representation of veterans in Armed Forces Commission as is the case of other commissions like Minority commission (headed by Minority member), Women Commission (headed by a woman).
(d) Despite veterans and armed forces personnel winning cases in AFT and various courts, the Government of the day as a matter of principle goes in for appeal in higher courts to deny benefits to veterans and armed forces personnel. Government has gone in appeal in over 3600 cases decided in favor of veterans by various courts. Denial of broad banding of war injury of war wounded soldiers and Denial of rank pay to all officers since fourth pay commission are some of the classical examples of denial of benefits to armed forces personnel and veterans.
(e) Special policy to look after welfare of widows. As of now, the widow is on the street and does not even get her proper pension. Her pension is not increased by Government stating some rules of last pay drawn. It is a matter of shame that this Government which can afford to spend thousands of crores on various welfare activities cannot give a pension of Rs 10000/ to a widow of a soldier who has laid his life for the country. As on date she is getting a paltry sum of Rs 3500/ as pension.
(f) Dept of ESW is being headed by an IAS officer whose main task is to put hurdles in the way of veterans getting their dues even after winning cases in the courts. This Dept of ESW should be headed by an officer in uniform and manned by men in uniform. Only a man in uniform can understand the plight of a veteran and a widow. Among the remaining staff of DESW there should be a good number of retired Defence personnel, who know and very well understand the problems of the veterans.
(g) The status and interse equation of Defence Forces with other civil services have been downgraded by five notches since 26 Jan 1950 which has not only adversely affected the morale and motivation of Defence Forces, but have made the profession less attractive to the youth. Raksha Mantri’s, statement in Parliament revealed that from 2005 to 2009, 40% of vacancies in IMA & OTA have not been subscribed. Such a retrograde situation has adversely affected the security of the Nation. The suitable youth is not being attracted to the Defence Forces. There is an immediate need to restore the status and interse equation of Defence Forces with other central services as existed on 26 Jan 1950 with all consequential benefits.
9. Kindly communicate your views on the demands of veterans stated above and also confirm that these demands would be suitably included in your manifesto for the election and that your leaders would be unambiguously announcing party stand in various meetings in veterans’ populated areas.
10. IESM delegation would be happy to meet the President and other important functionaries of your party at a convenient time and date to explain the demands of veterans and work out other modalities.
11. Please communicate your stand at the earliest.
With Regards,
Yours Sincerely, Jai Hind

Note – Copy of this letter has been also sent to the Three Chiefs, with a request to persue the above matters vigorously with the Government.

Najib Razak, Prime minister of Malaysia confirms debris of flight MH370

Najib Razak, Prime minister of Malaysia,

On 8 March 2014, flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing disappeared. The days, weeks and months that followed have been a period of torment for the families of those on board.
The plane’s disappearance was without precedent. At every stage, we followed the tiny amount of evidence that existed. But, despite the efforts of 26 nations and the largest search in aviation history, from the South China Sea to the Indian Ocean, the plane could not be located.
Neither could investigations by the world’s leading aviation experts answer why MH370 veered off course and went dark. While the plane’s disappearance remained a mystery, we have shared the pain of those who could find no comfort.
Last week, on 29th July, we were informed by the French authorities that part of an aircraft wing had been found on Reunion, the French island in the Indian Ocean.
Today, 515 days since the plane disappeared, it is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that an international team of experts have conclusively confirmed that the aircraft debris found on Reunion Island is indeed from MH370.
We now have physical evidence that, as I announced on 24th March last year, flight MH370 tragically ended in the southern Indian Ocean.
This is a remote, inhospitable and dangerous area, and on behalf of Malaysia I would like to thank the many nations, organisations and individuals who have participated in the search.
The burden and uncertainty faced by the families during this time has been unspeakable. It is my hope that this confirmation, however tragic and painful, will at least bring certainty to the families and loved ones of the 239 people onboard MH370. They have our deepest sympathy and prayers.
I would like to assure all those affected by this tragedy that the government of Malaysia is committed to do everything within our means to find out the truth of what happened. MH370’s disappearance marked us as a nation. We mourn with you, as a nation.
And I promise you this: Malaysia will always remember and honour those who were lost onboard MH370.

Garbhopanishad and pregnancy

Though “Kahun Gynaecological Papyrus” is agreed by the western people as their oldest known medical text of any kind. Dated to about 1800 BCE, it deals with women's health—gynaecological diseases, fertility, pregnancy, contraception, etc. Modern medical science has no reference from any part of this book other than its historical mentions…
One of the ancient Upanishads, Garbhopanishad, has precise detailed information on embryology, matching very closely with modern scientific embryology, excluding some details still unknown to modern science. Garbhopanioshad is written much earlier than 3000 BC, at least 1500 yrs before papyrus.
Science of embryology in Vedic scriptures
In Vedic scriptures, it is clearly mentioned that the gender of the unborn child is dependent on the seed (male aspect) and not on prakriti(female aspect). Decades of modern scientific research in laboratories across the world has finally proved this Vedic truth.
Below are some of the details of Embryology & Gynaenacology from Garbhopanishad
What is garbha(Pregnancy)
The factors required for the conception of fetus is ought to be
• Father’s semen
• Mother’s menstrual blood (artava)
• Atman, or subtle body made up of five elements (fire, earth, air, water and spirit)
• Manas or mind, united to a particular embryo subjective to its past karma.
Atman (spirit of supreme soul) unites with Sonitum (ovum) and shukra(Sperm) inside the uterus to form garbha(embryo). In addition to atma, there is also the role of prakriti(nature) and vikaras(emotion or feeling) behind the formation of embryo.
Symptoms of pregnancy
Symptoms of pregnancy is divided into two parts
Sadyo garbha laksana (symptoms just after conception)
weakness of thighs, Fatigue, thirst, quivering of vagina and retention of sukra (sperm) and sonitum (ovum).
Vyakta garbha laksana (symptoms after child body parts is formed inside embryo.)
Vomiting without cause, development of linea nigra, anorexia, heaviness of body especially legs, craving for pleasant aroma, salivation, Blackened lips and areola, tiredness, aversion for sour taste etc.
Body features from parents
Intensity of features inherited from parents depend upon the gender of the unborn child
Components from father: Beard and moustache, Nail, Hair, Bones, Tendons, Veins, Arteries, Semen, Teeth.
Components from mother: Muscles, Fat, Kidney, Pancreas, Spleen, Urinary bladder, Bone marrow, Skin, Liver, Stomach, Blood, Rectum, Intestines, Heart.
Body features from nature (surroundings)
Components from Satva (mental faculty): Consciousness, Determination, Pride, Endeavour, Memory, Knowledge and Longevity.
Components from Satmya (habituation): life, living style of parents and sibling, Natural immunity, refined intelligence and function, Absence of idleness, Freedom from diseases, Longevity, Absence of greediness, Strength or energy.
Components derived from Rasa (food): Growth of body, Origin of body, Nourishment, Health, Formation of various body parts, Enthusiasm or zeal, Attachment to life, Energy or strength, Contentment, Complexion.
Fetal nourishment
Connected to maternal “rasavaha-nadi”, the umbilical cord provides the crux of mother’s diet to the child forming inside fetus. Child gets the vital nutrients for its sustenance from Upasneha (Moisture inside fetus) that runs obliquely along all his/her body parts. This continues since conception till the parts of child is fully formed inside embryo.
Phases of embryo formation
1st month: Embryo takes the shape of kalala(random or irregular form)
2nd month: Five elements of nature combines together to form the solid mass inside embryo. Sex of the child can be predicted at this stage. If the shape of the solid mass is elongated, baby is female, male if oval and hermaphrodite if the shape of the solid mass is round
3rd month: Sense organs and body parts of the child starts developing inside fetus.
4th month: Formation of different body parts like thorax, abdomen becomes stable and conspicuous. Heart is formed and hence, the Consciousness manifests inside the embryo. Character and behavior of the child is determined by the preference of taste and food the mother asks for during this period of pregnancy. If the preference and desires of mother is not met, the unborn child may undergo dwarfism, kyphosis, squint, or other congenital defects
5th month: Mind is developed and hence the increase in mental consciousness.
6th month: Mind becomes more developed. Hair, nails, veins and other similar organs develop in this month
7th month: All minor and major parts of the body becomes fully developed or almost conspicuous
8th month: Immaturity of fetus keeps the ojas(Vigor or energy) unstable. Ojas moves from fetus to mother and vice versa through fluid carrying channels. This movement of Ojas inside the fetus provides pain, itchiness or happiness to the mother alternately.
How to take care of pregnant woman
Cold liquid and sweet diet is recommended during the first five months of pregnancy. Ghee and rice mixed with goksura( Tribulus terrestris) must be given in the sixth month of pregnancy. During the seventh month, comsumption of Sarivana(Desmodium Gangetcium) medicated with ghee facilitate the proper development of embryo.
If the child is born naturally, Clean the venix caseosa and Cut off the umbilical cord.
Apply Bala Taila(Child oil) on head and body of the born baby or herbs like vaca, jatamanasi after cleaning the oral cavity with ghee and rock salt
Ayurvedic treatise and medicines for pregnant woman , Garbhini roga(Pregnancy diseases) & Causes for abortion/miscarriage are dealt in details as separate chapters in it..
