Satya Nadella named the next CEO of Microsoft

Satya Nadella is to replace Steven A. Ballmer, current CEO of Microsoft and Bill Gates will step down as Chairman to be his adviser. 

After the news of selection Nadella said, “Microsoft is one of those rare companies to have truly revolutionized the world through technology, and I couldn't be more honored to have been chosen to lead the company.”

Satya Nadella is currently the President, Server & Tools Business at Microsoft Corporation. Son of an IAS officer, hailing from Hyderabad, Mr.Nadella join the ranks of Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi, current Chair Person and CEO of PepsiCo as the very few Indians to head top Fortune 100 companies.

Born in 1967, he attended the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet. He did his graduation from Manipal Institute of Technology, Karnataka. He earned his MS in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Prior to joining Microsoft in 1992, he worked for Sun Microsystems.

Married for over 22 years, he has 3 children. He is know to be a very humble and soft spoken guy.
